Faculty

Our faculty is chaired by Dr. Tom Thibodeau, one of the nation’s top real estate finance professors and academic researchers. The faculty includes full-time instructor Curtis Sears; and five lecturers with industry experience in law, architecture, and development.

Our Board of Directors are dedicated industry experts selected to work with the Center. This group manages the day-to-day operations and is vital to the success of our mentoring programs as well as our internship and job placement.

Council

Our real estate initiatives, academic and programmatic, would not exist without the support of our Council members. This membership organization gathers quarterly. The meetings cover everything from market conditions and the latest economic data to CU Boulder updates. Student mentoring, hands on internship and job placement, networking, and industry-engagement opportunities are also discussed.Click here to join.

Young Alumni Board

The CU Real Estate Young Alumni Board is a council of Undergraduate and MBA professionals who graduated from the CU Real Estate program and are currently employed in the real estate community. The Board is limited to alumni 35 and under who have demonstrated their interest and ability as future industry leaders. The goal of the Young Alumni Board is to support and promote identified charges of the CUREC. The Young Alumni are committed to making a positive impact for future students by participating in efforts including strengthening the alumni base locally and nationally, providing a fresh perspective for curriculum development, mentoring students, and giving back to the community through local charity work. The Young Alumni also has an elected Board Chair who sits on the Board of Directors and is the voice of the young alumni.

Leadership Award

The CU Real Estate Center Leadership Award is given to those individuals who are outstanding exponents of the real estate or related industry and who have brought extraordinary credit to the University and the Center. While only one award may be presented annually, it is not mandatory that one be selected each year. The following areas are considered when selecting the Leadership Award recipient.

Koelbel Alumni Award

The CU Real Estate Center Koelbel Alumni Award is presented to alumni of the University of Colorado who have contributed their time and energy on behalf of the Real Estate Center and students who go through the real estate program. While one award may be presented annually, it is not mandatory that one be selected each year. The following areas are considered when selecting the Alumni Award recipient.
