Leeds School of Business
Dr. Matusik has served in a variety of leadership roles, including senior associate dean for faculty and research and academic director of the Deming Center for Entrepreneurship at the Leeds School, and as a board member for nonprofit organizations such as the Strategic Management Society and MBA Women International (formerly Graduate Women in Business [GWIB]). She speaks regularly on topics related to innovation and entrepreneurship, and advises local entrepreneurial ventures. She is the 2014 recipient of the Leeds School’s William H. Baughn Distinguished Service award, and has also received awards for her research, teaching and service to her and service to her profession. Prior to becoming a professor, Dr. Matusik worked in the field of consulting for seven years.

As the Center’s Executive Director, Mike manages and promotes the important relationships between the real estate industry and the academic community through a number of initiatives focusing on business education preparedness, career development and mentoring, and advancement of industry best practices.

Tom is currently the Academic Director of the University of Colorado’s Real Estate Center (CUREC). Tom is responsible for: (1) overseeing the Leeds School of Business real estate curriculum at both the graduate and undergraduate levels; (2) staffing real estate courses with qualified, committed research faculty and instructors; (3) directing the Center’s academic research; (4) facilitating and contributing to real estate industry oriented research; and (5) continuing to develop relationships with members of the real estate industry.

As Executive Director of the Business Research Division his responsibilities include developing an annual consensus forecast of the Colorado economy and performing various economic impact assessments of the Colorado economy. Wobbekind also produces the quarterly Leeds Business Confidence Index for Colorado.

Mr. Koehn is currently the Managing Principal at K2Ventures, LLC, a small investment and development entity located in Denver. He was previously President & COO of Corporex Colorado, a Midwest-based office and hotel development firm, and was also Regional Senior Vice President for Equity Office Properties, formerly the largest public real estate investment trust (REIT) in the country. Mr. Koehn has also held positions with Opus Corporation, Household Commercial, Fifield Realty, and Baker Companies.He has served on and chaired the Boards of Directors of the Downtown Denver Partnership (DDP), the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP), and Special Olympics Colorado (SOCO). Kim received his undergraduate degree in Environmental Design (BENVD) from the University of Colorado, and his Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Chicago.

Mike Komppa founded Corum Real Estate Group in 1986 with a diversified group of talented and experienced professionals with a vision to become active participants in a variety of real estate product types. Since 1986 they have collaborated on the development, acquisition and repositioning of more than 8 million square feet of commercial office, warehouse and apartment properties in the Colorado and Chicago area markets.

After a diversified real estate career spanning more than 40 years, Mr. Shaw has established a real estate consulting practice and has recently been retained by the Fitzsimons Redevelopment Authority to manage their real estate portfolio.
John Freyer, Sr.
Co-Chairman of the Board, Land Title Guarantee Company
John E. Freyer is president of both Land Title Guarantee Company and Land Title Insurance Corporation. Mr. Freyer is a 1971 graduate of the University of Colorado with a major in business. He is a co-founder and director of Steele Street Bank & Trust; founding sponsor of the Brokers for Battered Kids charity event; Chair of the Denver Botanic Gardens Endowment Fund, Board member of the Museum of Nature and Science; Chair of the Colorado Business Hall of Fame nominating committee 2008-present; Former member of the 2nd Judicial District Nominating Commission; Past president and executive board member of The Hundred Club of Denver.
President, L.C.Fulenwider, Inc.
Cal Fulenwider III has been the President of LCF Inc. for more than 20 years. Fulenwider has had the key role in the strategic planning, development and management of the approximately 7,500 acres surrounding DIA and owned by LCF Inc. Prior to developing projects in the DIA area, Fulenwider was the Venture Manager for the 500,000 square foot Bank One building in downtown Denver and has overseen the development and management of numerous high-end residential projects, including Polo Club North, Polo Club North Homes and Polo Field West, and Larimer Place Condominiums (a downtown Denver high-rise).
Principal and President, Centennial Realty Advisors, LLC
Kenneth Gillis is a Principal and President, responsible for directing all of the asset and property management activities of Centennial Realty Advisors. Mr. Gillis created Centennial in 2003. Today, the company manages a portfolio of 10 properties, totaling 1.5 million square feet. Mr. Gillis began his real estate career in 1984 as a property manager for LaSalle Partners in Denver. In 1989, he became a portfolio manager for LaSalle Advisors, responsible for the investment management decisions of a 12 million square foot portfolio of offices, industrial, and multi-family properties throughout the United States. In 1996, he advanced to western regional president of LaSalle’s Leasing and Management Group, responsible for a 35 million square foot portfolio of office and industrial properties.

Mr. Mark serves as President and Chief Operating Officer of American Real Estate Advisors and is responsible for the expansion and on-going operation of the company. He formed American Real Advisors in 2008 following thirty five years of accumulated experience including association with two Fortune 500 companies specializing in sales, marketing and management. Since entering the commercial real estate industry in 1982, Mr. Mark has utilized his talents in development, asset and property management, brokerage, leasing, and construction management.

Randy Nichols is President and Founder of The Nichols Partnership, Inc. Based in Denver, Colorado, the company specializes in the development of commercial and multi-family real estate. With over 25 years of experience in real estate development, brokerage and management, Mr. Nichols started his career in real estate brokerage in 1981 with LaSalle Partners. He established the Nichols Partnership in 1993 to pursue commercial development opportunities in Colorado. Since 1993, the Nichols Partnership has developed 1.5M square feet of commercial space and over 1000 units of housing including such prominent projects as “Clayton Lane”, “1899 Wynkoop”, the “Manor Homes at Cherry Creek” and “Spire”.

Jeffrey S. Robinson is managing partner at Hampton Partners. Hampton Partners is a Denver-based private capital investment firm with over thirty years’ of experience structuring and managing real estate investments. Hampton has structured over $500,000 million of investments with institutional and private equity sources and is now focused on tenant driven real estate opportunities in the Western United States as well as select multi-family development opportunities and urban infill development in Denver. Hampton Partner’s current portfolio consists of 200,000+ sq/ft of retail projects and 220 multifamily units in Colorado.
